Friends from consulates of several countries had an enjoyable time together in Tse-Xin’s organic farm!

In an “One-day Agricultural Tour” held by the government and the Farmer’s Association of Yun-lin County, friends from consulates came to Tse-Xin’s organic farm in the early winter, and joined the food and agriculture education activity. Adults and kids walked through every corner of the farm, including “edible landscape of herbs”, lush green passageway with a variety of blooms, like blue sky vine, as well as an organic paddy field just harvested.

Genuine connections were built between the land and the people by every footstep throughout the organic farm. Bonds of friendship were also increased during the fieldworks. When the tour guide was explaining the softness of the field loosened by the digging of moles, everyone spontaneously trod lightly on the ground. Meanwhile, some children even found a “touch-me-not” mimosa pudica on the ground and became so excited. All people were therefore so impressed with this field. As a Taiwanese saying goes, “"Even if the people are strangers, the soil feels like home."(人不親，土親) people are brought together because of the intimacy with the land, which can be fully illustrated here..

What’s worth mentioning, the deputy county mayor of Yun-lin, Hsieh Shu Ya, was also present, enjoyed reaping the rice in the paddy field and picking roselle with the international friends, and also joined the DIY workshop for drinking vinegar made from herbs and roselle. Everyone had a unique handmade souvenir from Yun-lin and knew more about local produce as well.

Through the one-day farm tour in such a lush green and vibrant farm, everyone immersed themselves in the refreshing and soothing nature surroundings.
