With the support of Yunlin County Farmers’ Association, two international “Grassroots Ambassadors” — Mr. Atsadayut Duangthons from Thailand and Ms. Anna Lent from the United States — visited Tse-Xin Organic Farm, engaging in a cross-cultural agricultural exchange.

Grassroots ambassadors are young representatives from rural communities worldwide, passionate about the environment and sustainability. Through the global physical exchanges, they share diverse agricultural practices and generational perspectives. For Atsadayut and Anna, the Organic Farm was a brand-new experience. Built over decades with numerous manpower, the farm is a base for organic farming, ecological education, and cultural heritage — a place where forests, streams, and farmland coexist, offering both healing and learning. Both international youths come from rural communities and share a deep bond with the land. This visit was not only a cross-cultural exchange but also a meaningful interaction and inspiration in organic agriculture.

During their visit, the two youth hand-brewed herbal tea, crafted natural skincare with essential oils, and enjoyed a plant-based lunch made from freshly harvested vegetables. Tasting Thai basil fried rice, Atsadayut exclaimed, “I can’t believe this is vegetarian — it’s so delicious!” The experience inspired both young farmers to rethink the possibilities of agriculture; at the same time, they also shared farming experiences from their own homelands and showed great interest in sustainable and eco-friendly farming.

It is hoped that the two international youths will take their insights and reflections home and share with families and friends, spreading the diversity of Taiwan’s local faming and the vision of organic and sustainability of Tse-Xin Organic Farm worldwide. The journey aspires to spark hope and offer fresh perspectives to agriculture amid the impacts of climate change.
